“ADHYATMIK”, A Spiritual Conclave | Ministry of Culture | Ashoka Hotel, Delhi

STAR 1

Under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the Ministry of Culture invited Sundar Gopal Das to “Adhyatmik”, a Spiritual Conclave held at the Ashoka Hotel in Delhi and attended by several dignitaries, spokespersons, and spiritual leaders from different organisations.

Sundar Gopal Das delivered a speech on the significance of culture. He told that Rituals and Traditions are only the “What” but we must also seek out the “Why”. Culture guides our transition from ignorance to knowledge (tamso ma jyotirtir gamayah). Culture discusses happiness for everyone (Sarve janah sukhina bhavantu).

He also discussed ISKCON’s successes in bringing the principles of Vedic culture to the world’s attention. Sundar Gopal Das said that the goal of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) should be to enable people transition from kaam (Lust) to akam (Love), in accordance with the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.

He also thanked all the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” leaders for assisting ISCKON in its mission to bring true happiness to everyone, and he thanked AKAM in particular for their kind support in the Viplava festival, a celebration of the Vedic culture and its values, which was held in Goverdhan and attended by more than 5,000 youth dressed in traditional Vedic attire, dhoti, and kurtas, showcasing the Vedic values of India.
