In the latest travels, Sundar Gopal Das visited Mauritius for a couple of events that majorly included 2 Youth Festivals, a National TV interview, a 3 day Waterfront festival and more.
Mid-December, as frigid winters approached North India, Mauritius sought some enlightening counsel. The following week would bring Sundar Gopal Das a plethora of Keynote talks, almost back to back.
The community at Mauritius, for the last 15 years now, has been observing a 3 day festival known as the “Hare Krishna Waterfront festival”. Several leaders from the ISKCON Society are invited every year to the blissful celebrations. The organizers intended to invite Sundar Gopal Das along with other senior leaders for this year’s celebrations, and to make the most of it, clubbed it with Youth Festivals and other Speaking engagements post the 3 day celebrations.
The “Hare Krishna Waterfront festival” at Mahebourg was an excellent experience amongst the local community. The festival comprised of Lord Jagannath Snan Yatra the first day, the Rath Yatra festival on the second day, and a Boat festival on the third day.
During the commencement of the program, Sundar Gopal Das thanked the team working behind the wonderful preparations. A snippet of his talk stated – “A pure devotee’s heart has nothing but love for the Lord. It is astonishing to witness how Srila Prabhupada’s love blossomed so beautifully in the shape of these festivals that, to say nothing of practicing devotees, even a stranger with no knowledge of the philosophy of Krishna Consciousness may readily experience the bliss of Krishna Consciousness.”
On December 20th, he was due to speak at the Unicomp Computer Training Centre, followed by a youth festival in Sodnac attended by around fifty people. Sundar Gopal Das addressed the Young crowd over the topic “In Search of Happiness”. A few questions were taken and then the attendees saw a theatrical performance by the local troupe followed by a sumptuous dinner.
The next day, leading national channel of the country, the MBC, requested Sundar Gopal Das to appear in a special broadcast about Spiritual Science. There was another house program event in the evening hours. The days that followed were majorly talks at various local gatherings at different locations including a Gurukul Graduation Ceremony addressing at St. Paul Shivala.
